Prezmers Dream
~a story for a pup through the eyes of himself, and then another through the interpretations of his dreams~
As it begins I was a human, note the “was” in that statement, but anyways I was human, I am now something else, as you can obviously see, I’m a dog, more specifically a husky, it all happened one day I just woke up, laying in snow, I wondered why. But I got up and walked around, on all four of my feet, I looked around and I see three other huskies around me, each one waking up and then standing and doing the doglike stretch. When all of them are up we all huddle into the normal pack formation. Then, all of a sudden a howl is heard off in the distance. We run, all of us run for the distant howl, like instinct, I can’t really control it so I just run with them, I look down into the glistening snow as I’m running and I see myself, I’m covered with bright white fur and I can see my face in the snow, my eyes are blue and my nose is black, there is also black and grey fur on the top of my head and covering my perky ears, I love the way the fur feels on me, the breeze from running with the pack, the warmth from its thickness. Then, all of a sudden we all stop. And then the one who assumed the alpha male position, starts to howl, then one by one the other huskies arch their backs look up to the sky and starts to let out a long, symbolic howl, eventually I notice that I have started to howl against my will, a feeling that I had to, when all were finished with the pack howl we looked at each other, almost like communicating and I just instantly understood them, “food ahead, we are going to get it” then we start running again in the distance I see elk, we slow down to not scare them, and each one of us surrounds the herd and pick out what looks like the slowest animal in the group, I see mine, we close in on them and they start to move together forming almost like a circle around the younger ones and they start to run away, I chase the one elk that I was eyeing, I catch up to it then out of nowhere I pounce and grab it by the neck, and I drag it down, it falls with a great thump, it tries to escape but my mouth is tightly clamped down on its neck, eventually it stops moving, and drifts off to death. I then instinctively start to rip the flesh from the young elks body to reveal the flesh, after a short while the other three huskies come over and start to try and feed, I whip my head around and let out a ferocious bark making even the alpha back off after a minute of eating, my white neck fur was now a blood red color, I back away from the body to let the others have some, each of them yelping and barking, fighting over who gets what. After a while the others finish feeding. Then the alpha husky howls again, and we start running a forest is coming up into vision, and within minutes we are right next to it. We then all stop for a break and to play. I love the feeling of the cold snow in my nice warm thick fur I just decide to lay down on my paws and then roll over onto my back and wiggle in the snow, I yip and bark the ground in my back feels so good, it takes care of the itch I can’t scratch ahhh wonderful I think to myself, I then see two of the other huskies playing, jumping on each other, nipping it just looked so fun so I quickly jump onto my four feet and run over to them. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a tree branch on the ground I run over to it and pick it up with my teeth and drag it near the two huskies trying to get them to play tug of war, I’m bigger than the other two so I should win. One of them took my bait and comes over and grabs the other end of the branch and start to pull on it to take it away. He pulls, and I let out a loud growl we look eye to eye and he give one last tug, the tree branch breaks free from my grip and he takes off running with it me and the other husky take off running to try and catch him, both of us barking. I am able to quickly catch up to him. I pounce on top of him he falls into the snow, and I then grab him around the throat, symbolizing that I win.
I let go of him and he jumped up just looked at me and he knew that was my stick, so I ran over to it and grabbed it with my teeth, and start to chew the bark off of it after a while I’m bored with the stick and I drop it. I get up onto all fours and I decide to challenge the alpha, I believe that I am ready to lead the pack, I run up to our alpha, and I nip him in the rear, and he then lets out a yelp, he then whips his head around to face me and lets out a fierce growl, I knew he was upset, he then turns his whole body to face me. And he tries to bite at my paws, to injure me but I back away, and bark and growl. He then tries to attack me again to no avail. Then I attack him I grab his front paw with my teeth and I kind of drag him towards me a little I can hear him whining and yelping for me to stop, but I’m fighting him to win. I then am able to wrestle him to the ground and after a few minutes of him fighting to get up he eventually submits to me and presents his throat. At this point in time I could easily kill him, I just reach my mouth around his throat to symbolize that I am now the alpha male. The rest of the huskies will respect me now. I back away from the former alpha; he gets up, bows his head to me and joins the other two huskies. It is starting to darken so I decide that the pack should find shelter to rest. I decide to take us into the woods it would give better cover than out in the open fields. So I take them into the forest, I run into it and they follow, I see a cave and I decide to go in and see if it is empty. I go in alone, it doesn’t go in very far but it is empty and it will work, I bark and the rest come in. We all lay down in a formation, me, being the last to lie down and drift to sleep. The next morning I wake up to my alarm, a little startled, open my eyes, and get ready to go to work.
